Twitter Democratic Presidential Debate

N/A Collective, Charleston, SC, February 2020

Twitter partnered with CBSNews to co-sponsor the Spin Room/Press Filling Center at the Democratic Presidential Primary Debate at the Galliard Center in Charleston, NC, on Tuesday, February 25th, 2020. Twitter commissioned N/A Collective to create the layout and design of the Spin Room, adjacent Twitter Lounge, and the Twitter and CBS partnership sculpture outside the Center.

Spin Room/Filling Centre

In the Press Filling Center/Spin Room reporters watched the debate, took notes, wrote their articles and later interviewed the presidential candidates. N/A team designed and created banners that went along the walls, graphic for the truss suspended above the CBS podium, and the knee-wall barricades.

Twitter Lounge

N/A Collective transformed one of the empty adjacent rooms into a welcoming Twitter Lounge that carried the theme of the NYC urban environment so familiar to journalists. This unique space presented Twitter an opportunity to reach all of the political journalists in the country in the same place, and at the same time offered reporters a chance to learn more about useful Twitter updates.

Reporters could get coffee and snacks from stations that resembled neighborhood bodegas or street carts, and they could get advice about their account at the Newsstand Help Desk. The space was branded with strategically-placed tweets, coffee cups, and graphics, such as a customized Twitter newspaper.
